Serial number. A serial number is a unique identifier assigned incrementally or sequentially to an item, to uniquely identify it. A serial number, often contains letters, not just numerical digits. It may entirely be a character string, and it may contain other typographical symbols. If it is the first doc ( No document in the view) then assign a default number to the document. If it is not the first document ( Document already exists in the view) then take the last value documents serial number and increment the value and assign it to the new document that is created. Save the document. This document is for all HP products. A unique identifying number, called a serial number, is applied to every HP product. A serial number is often needed to speak with support, service the product, or determine if the product is still under warranty. Select your product for steps to find the serial number.

Select a blank cell which will place the serial number, type this formula =DATEVALUE('8/8/2017'), press Enter key. Now the date in formula will be displayed as serial number. The document serial number will not be duplicated on the same day. Due to high-volume usage, you may experience intermittent issues on the Trademark Status and Document Retrieval (TSDR) system between 6 – 8 a.m. Refreshing your web browser should resolve the issue.

It's nothing like either of those. The document in my link contains code that generates printout of however many copies you require, starting from whatever number you designate as the starting number, with each copy sequentially numbered. Your links don't do anything like that.

While I probably would not do it in the same way to day, the article 'Sequentially numbering multiple copies of single document using a macro' at:

does pretty much the same thing, as does the mail merge method for those who usually eschew the use of macros when something can be done without the use of a macro.
